How to Choose Dog Foods?

I am picking up a new Am Bulldog pup in a few weeks..one of my dogs was raised on solid gold dog food..was okay, but his stools were soft, not well formed…..was thinking about Prairie (by Natures Variety I think.)
1.- I can’t find the statements about the first top 5 ingredients….they were to be mainly meat?
2.- I can add ground turkey
3.- which is easiest to digest-cooked or raw?
4.-which is your choice for dry kibble dog food?
The first 5 ingredients were to be meat to be the best??…not sure if my first mail went through. Thanks again for your help!
